- The NeighborWorks Rural Initiative steering committee has set a goal of over $1 billion in invesetments in
rural communities across America by December 31, 2005. The direct investments will be used mostly
for first-time homebuyer mortgages, home rehabilitation loans, affordable housing developments for single and multi family
units, community facilities, economic development loans, community infrastructure, and special projects. Josie Cuda of
Randolph County Housing Authority John Wilste of Rural Opportunities, Inc. are Co-Chairs of the committee.
