Affordable Housing
Southeast Alabama
SEASHA has completed and manages nine rental developments: 268 apartments for the elderly and disabled -
Sojourner Apartments, named for Sojourner Truth; E. D. Nixon Apartments, named for a civil-rights pioneer;
Tubman Garden Apartments, named for Harriet Tubman; and Rose Garden Apartments, and Meadow Park Aparments;
and 207 apartments for families - WindOver Apartments, Pathway Apartments, Hulett Townhouse Apartments,
Capricorn Village Apartments. SEASHA also provides comprehensive support services to tenants, such as
elderly aid programs.
SEASHA has also built or
rehabilitated over 300 single-family ownership homes. In 1998, it completed a subdivision of 52 homes
on a small lake outside of Tuskegee. In 1999, it developed five homes on scattered sites. It is also
one of the first organizations in the country to participate in the Rural Home Loan Partnership (RHLP)
Program, having completed 11 homes, and has repaired hundreds of other homes.
