Karen Fraser became the proud owner of a home in Frazee, Minnesota, on December 4, 2001. Just a few months before, owning her home had seemed beyond the reach of this single mother.

Ms. Fraser's outlook and way of life has changed dramatically. "I never thought an address could mean so much to me! It means...I am a homeowner! It means my children have a very nice place to come home to, and are proud to bring their friends with them. It means as a single parent I am not throwing my money away on rent. I am investing it. It means if something happens to me, the kids are left with something. It means we have a sense of pride and accomplishment every time we walk in our door.
