Minnesota Community Development Corporation (MMCDC)
began in 1971 when the Mahube Community Action Program
obtained funding for a specialty crop program. This
money capitalized MMCDC, one of the original generation
of CDCs.
MMCDC's
service area covers seven counties in northwest
Minnesota: Becker, Hubbard, Mahnomen, Clearwater, Polk,
Red Lake, and Pennington. MMCDC focuses on creating
jobs, diversifying the economy, and developing
affordable housing. Its board of directors consists of
eleven elected members and one appointed by the White
Earth Reservation Tribal Council. |
