HISTORY
Community Housing, Inc.
(CHI) was originally formed in 1990 as Family Resources, Inc. Family Resources changed its
name to CHI in 1999. Its mission is to provide affordable housing with an emphasis on family
services enabling them to attain and maintain housing; to be responsive to community needs;
and to be an advocate for housing activities benefiting the low-income community.
CHI serves five counties
in eastern central Kentucky where the poverty rates vary from Clark’s 13.6 percent to Estill’s
22.7 percent. CHI develops ownership and rental housing, renovates existing homes, connects low-income
residents to homeownership opportunities, and manages affordable housing, including its own and others. |
