Cabrillo
Economic Development Corporation (CEDC) grew out of the Cabrillo Improvement Association,
established in 1976 to revitalize Cabrillo Village, a former farm labor camp in Saticoy.
Led by a 15-member Board of Directors, it continues to benefit low-income residents
of Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties by developing community leadership, providing
affordable housing, developing community facilities, spearheading new economic activities,
and advocating for low-income people and community-based development.
CEDC is a recognized leader among California and national CDCs for its housing
production track record, as well as its emphasis on community building. Since its
founding, CEDC has developed 749 units of single-family and affordable rental housing that
provide quality homes for more than 3,000 families, seniors and farmworkers in nine
communities with a reinvestment value of $53 million. CEDC is currently developing
nine housing projects in two counties worth over $50 million.
